About Public Affairs
The office of Public Affairs resides in the University Relations department. It's main purpose is to serve the President's Office by interacting with LDS church officials.
The office of Public Affairs had its beginnings in 1976. It was created to support the presidents office by interfacing with LDS church officials and organizing and implementing high level events. Today, it also oversees the Shelley Visitors Center and the BYU tour program which serves approximately 5,000 guests annually. Further information is available by calling (801) 422-4679.
